QUESTION:
Human yeast ear infection at home treatments?
My boyfriend doesn't have health insurance and can't afford medial care.He has what seems like excessive ear wax, so I took a sample to work (I am a vet tech) and found yeast when I looked at it under the microscope. Does anyone know any over the counter or non-prescription treatments? How can we prevent it from re-occurring?
ANSWER:
get an over-the-counter antifungal that is made for athletes foot and swab some into the ear. I get yeast infections in my belly button and this works. His ear canal structure must be such that water traps in it easily. He needs to take some cotton balls or something and make sure that his ears are completely dried out when he gets out of the shower.
QUESTION:
Mu dog has ear yeast infection AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?
i have brought my dog to the vet twice already for the same problem, my dog has an ear infection- (yeast) - from getting water in his ear when swimming...unfortunately my dog (lhasa apso) has a case of yeast infection... we brought him to the vet and the vet gave us these pills for him, an ointment and ear cleanser- (oti-cleanse)
so the vet taught us how to clean his ears and told us to do this morning and before we sleep- night... we have done it for aweek and sw great great results. the vet told us to keep doing this for a few more days even though it looks cured already- we did and then she told us when we can stop, we stopped when she told us to but then a week later- it came back againwe brought him to the vet again- they told us the same thing- same medicine (and btw for each time we went there they charged us 0 something) it's quite expensive.
and so his ears was cured again but it still came back...
is there anything i can do to stop it from coming back again and again and again aside from going to the vet- it is too much money, and i want to know if there is a permanent cure- a home remedy that i can do and that will stop it from coming back, nothing that ivolves going back to the vet, and only home remedies- i dont like to use human medicine btw
thank you- all answers are appreciate.. also i would like home remedies or instructions on how you did- AS MUCH INFO AS POSSIBLE. thank you

QUESTION:
My Beagle has another ear/yeast infection...help?
Okay, I have been in for this before and she is prone to them ... in one ear especially. I think she has a grass or food allergy. Anyway, rather than wait until Monday I was wondering if I could use a Human product on her ear. My best friend is a Vet Tech, and he has always said that a lot of the pet meds are just human meds. I would ask him, but he is out of town. What do you think? What do you recommend?ANSWER:
Yeast infections are recurrent. Many dogs have repeated ones all their lives. The best way to control them is to clean the ears with rubbing alcohol at least once or twice a week. It kills yeast. Yeast infections are the most common ear infections in dogs.My golden had this problem. To get the yeast under control to begin with, I lie the dog down and put a capful of alcohol into the ear. She lies for a few moments then I do the other side. I do this 3 times a day until the yeast is under control. Then I do it once or twice a week to prevent another yeast outbreak. This also works on humans who have repeated swimmer's ear which is just a yeast infection. My kid's doctor taught me to do this years and years ago for the kids and it works on my dog too.
QUESTION:
my dog has a yeast infection in her ear. how do i get rid of it?
Weve tried the steroids from the vet, weve tried the yogart supplements, no more human food, wheat free food!!! Im at a loss! helpANSWER:
Many yeast infections are allergy related...either food allergies or outdoor allergies. First, I'd try a good food formulated for dogs with food allergies, like California Natural or Natural Balance (they have several formulas-look for the allergy ones...ALL California Natural products are for allergic dogs). After that-back to the vet...ask for an ANTI FUNGAL...and ask why the vet gave you only steroids to start with...steroids do not treat fungus...they'll treat inflammation. If this is an ongoing issue, ask about preventative treatments (putting medication in the ear once per week), or ask about allergy testing.
